- 1/2 cup Fresh coriander Leaves
- 1 bowl gram flour(besan)
- 1 tbsp green chilli and ginger paste
- 1 tsp jeera(cumin powder)
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric (haldi) powder
- to taste salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper Powder (kali mirch) powder
- 1/4 tsp hing(asafoetida)
Instructions to make to make Healthy Appam
- Grind the green chick peas in mixer (grind coarsely not whole paste) (and dont add water)
- Transfer it into bowl..Now add gram flour(besan to it) we have to take same quantity of besan as of green chana..you may add besan in installments..
- Mix gram flour & green chick pea paste.Now add cumin powder, garam masala, jeera powder, black pepper powder,red chilli powder,, turmeric powder,salt,greenchilli ginger paste
- Add coriander leaves (chop them). Now mix all the ingredients properly.You may add onion, garlic or any vegetable you would like to add for kids..
- Consistency should be somewhat liquid like not totally thick...it should be like the pakoda's batter we make
- Now add 1 tbsp hot oil on batter
- Now you can take the Appam Stand n put oil inall sections..n now put some sesame seedz(white) n now when oil gets hot put the batter inall sections of appam
- Now dont fill the whole section as the appam size increases when it gets cooked
- So now after 3..4 mins put some oil on above side and with help of knife and spoon. Reverse it. N now add oil on sides so you can see that the side which was below earlier is golden brown
- So like that only 2nd side shld b golden brown. So jst after 2 to 3 mins appam are ready
- So guys too healthy and yummy snack * Healthy Appam* is ready to serve with tomato sauce, or green chutney
